I Want To Believe X Pixie Tree

Hi everyone!

For this post, I was able to collaborate with the lovely girls at Pixie Tree! I'm wearing their limited edition 'I Want To Believe' bronze alien choker (which you can also get as a necklace). The chokers come on an adjustable chord to suit your neck size and how short/long you want the choker to be. The chokers are 30cm long rubber cords (with an adjutable chain), and the necklaces are 45cm long wax cords.
You can check out their full collection on their website - pixietree.bigcartel.com. If you have Instagram, I encourage you to follow them on their Instagram so you can keep up with their updates (new stock, sales, limited editions, etc.)

Soooo, I turned 16 around a week ago! I had honestly lost next to all the excitement I used to feel as a kid, about birthdays, but this year it was different. I was definitely pumped for my birthday! Although I haven't ~officially celebrated with my friends yet (I'm having a joint party with one of my best friends next week aahh!!!), I had a small celebration with my family. (They didn't really get me a present this year but oddly enough, they let me buy 3 pots of cacti in the space of two days??) I'm definitely looking forward to living up to the big 1-6 (I admit- Hollywood's depiction of the ultimate 16 year old sweetheart does have a little bit of an influence over me, but I guess this is a good thing in my case).

P.S Hey pals from school! You may  have noticed a little something in these photos. I was pretty skeptical about wearing it at first, but trust me; if you have one, wear it out. It actually looks pretty cute!

Numinous

numinous:

an experience that makes you feel fearful yet fascinated, awed yet attracted- the powerful personal feeling of being overwhelmed and inspired

Miss Sugar Pink Liquor, Liquor Lips

PLAYSUIT - ARK AND ARROW, LIPSTICK - CALVIN KLEIN, SHOES - WILDFIRE

Heya everyone!

Okay so first of all, I'm expressing my big love to Ark and Arrow for sending me this jumpsuit to show off to all of my followers and friends. Whenever I put it on, I'm instantly transformed into a night sky//a disco dancing badass babe. This sparkly outfit is a definite must-have for parties past midnight. Ark and Arrow stocks so many pretty dresses for both casual wear and party wear and I'm head-over-heels in love with all of them. They're also so cheap for such incredible quality! Because this playsuit is 80% sequins, I was expecting scratchiness, but it was surprisingly comfortable, and is only $39.50 online!!

Quick change of topic~ Something that has been irking me a lot recently is the fact that so many young girls think they need a check of approval from teenage boys in order to feel confident and secure about themselves, and I think that a lot of people who encourage this are unaware that they are doing it. (I'm going to go with generic straight boy/straight girl examples here because from what I've seen, this little rant is not as relevant to gender/sexual minorities) Subtle comments such as 'She's so pretty- I bet all the boys think she's hot' and 'Ugh I feel so shit today. The checkout boy didn't even look at me' imply that girls shouldn't feel great about herself until a boy indicates that he is romantically/sexually interested in her. I used to put my confidence in the hands of boys as well, and I was always so insecure about my body and it felt sooo shitty. I don't really know what happened between then and now- I guess I just grew up and realised that boys' opinions don't matter at all (zilch. zero. absolutely nothing) when it comes to your body and your decisions.

Diaphanous X For Earth By Earth

diaphanous (adj)
dʌɪˈaf(ə)nəs/
(especially of fabric) light, delicate, and translucent.

Rainbow pendant from For Earth By Earth

Hello!

My huge love for mixing pink tones with cold blues doesn't look like it's going away any time soon! My wardrobe recently has started to resemble Andie's wardrobe in Pretty In Pink. As you can probably see, I've been trying out different styles of editing, and this one so far is one of my favourites. The contrast of qualities really does this photoset justice. I don't think I'd love this photoset half as much if it was just in HD quality!

I hope everyone's holidays are going swell! I've been super productive over the last three weeks and I hope I stay this motivated for at least the next two years! Thinking about how close Year 12 and graduating high school is, really overwhelms me and does my head in :(

I've just received another package in the mail from another cool brand that I'm promoting, so stay tuned because it's highly likely that I'll be posting again before school starts!

Dreamers Who've Stopped Dreaming

Hello!

I've decided to start playing around with my editing, and these are the results of about a day and half's worth of exhausting editing. Basically, I was testing out the new tripod I got for Christmas and I ended up with a bunch of photos of me in a dress (PJ's) that my mum got me in 5th grade. The photos turned out looking alright. They were too plain for me to just post and they were themeless, so I decided to try my hand at multi-media designing. The photos are actually in order of which I like best (the bottom one is kinda shitty imo because I was starting to lose inspiration). Feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Sorry to self-promote, but I've just opened a little shop on Instagram called Luna Boutique, where I'll be selling little handmade things such as badges/pins, zines, stickers, etc. and it'd be mega-cool if you could check it out or maybe spread the word around a bit!!

Hope everyone's having a good holiday, or if you're on the other side of the world, I hope you've had a good first few days back at school!

it's always darkest before the dawn

Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've been pretty busy the last few weeks with Christmas coming up and all! This photoset is one of my favourite things I've ever put together and I've been really excited to share it with you guys. It's summer here in Australia but there was a week where there were thunderstorms and torrential rain every day starting at around 6pm. I was stuck inside during the period of bad weather so I decided to make the best of the late summer sunsets and the rain, and put my camera into good use. I thought that it'd be extremely appropriate to publish a rainy day/sad mood playlist alongside this photoset so yeah here it is!

So yeah I hope you enjoy! I know this isn't a very Christmassy post, but I doubt I'll be posting again before Christmas :( So if I don't see you guys again before or on Christmas, MERRY CHRISTMAS! And if you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you're enjoying your holidays!!

summer X school

shirt is a hand-me-down, skirt is thrifted $2.50 (originally from Supre)

Hola amigos!

I just completed my first HSC assessment task this morning and I feel so free right now. I will have completed Year 10 in a few weeks and I don't know whether I'm excited or scared to be honest! I've got huuuge plans for the upcoming summer holidays yay! Also, my hair is getting so long now and I think I'm getting too emotionally attached to it haha. I'll be doing something pretty groovy to my hair over the summer (hopefully) and I really hope it turns out great.

Okay so I'm going to talk about my week at work experience (as I mentioned I would in my last post). I went to my old primary school, which was probably a mistake. I was overcome with so much emotion and nostalgia, especially when I walked into my kindy classroom (which has now been transformed into a 5/6 class). I was teaching at a school that I attended when I was merely 4 years old- more than a decade ago. Aside from that, I really enjoyed my week of work experience! I worked with kindy, yrs 1, 2, 5, and 6 (but mostly kindy). I was swarmed by kids asking me what my name was, if I was coming to their class, etc. during break times. There were a group of kindy girls who would compliment me:  'you look so pretty today Miss Jenny', 'Miss Jenny!!! your skirt is so nice', 'you look so beautiful Miss Jenny!' every time I'd walk into their class, and they were so sweet and innocent ^_^ I loved the kids so much!

Yeah that's it for now! Hope everyone has a lovely week!
